Houston is a massive and diverse city filled with world-class dining, arts, hotels, shopping and nightlife. None of this could possible without it’s amazing artists, entrepreneurs, business owners and non-profit mavericks whom together shape Houston in Americas fourth largest city.
I officially started my business in 2016. For a while, I was just posting edited cell phone shots of my kids for fun and people started asking me how much I charge for sessions. I thought to myself, “if people want to pay me for cell phone pictures, I may need to start a business!” lol. I have always had an artistic eye and being a stay at home mom really lit a fire in me to go further and pursue a business of my own, so at the beginning of that year I bought everything I needed professionally to…

In 2011, My Sister and I was sitting in my Living room making earrings for fun. The more Earrings we made, I began to think! Oddly enough, I began my career as an artist during my first year in law school. This was when I became an abstract expressionist, creating paintings on canvas. Art was an emotional release that did not require for me to think, analyze, rate, or judge myself. Painting became a safe space for me to express myself, to explore my inner consciousness, and to reflect. I painted all throughout law school and as a lawyer for the combination of nine years. However, I can remember from when I was a child that I always wanted to be an artist and a…
I homeschooled my last two year of high school, and while I was home I had begun experimenting with things (i.e. eggs, mayonnaise, coconut oil, honey) I already had around the house. I had just went natural towards the end of my sophomore year, so that year after I had time to play mad scientist with my recipes and see what worked and what didn’t.

Shweety’s began in 2019. It was conceived out of necessity and nurtured into being through the nations current enthusiasm for plants. I have worked outdoors in the plant realm for the better part of the last decade as a greenskeeper, nursery attendant, grower, and entrepreneur. I’ve traveled all over the US and Central America focusing on visiting gardens, landscapes, and places of food production. I’ve volunteered at permaculture farms and in community gardens, growing what I could wherever I could. My personal collection over the years has grown from a few plants to hundreds. All of this co-exists with the…
I’ve been building my body of work for about five years now. I started becoming serious in art when I was about 12. I went to Copiah-Lincoln Community College to study Visual Arts before starting to obtain my Bachelor’s in Visual Arts with a concentration in Sculpture at SouthEastern Louisiana University. I’m working on getting my Masters in Fine Art and to continue my craft in textile sculptures.
When I was born, I lived in Villa Americana apartments on the south side of Houston. Grew up with 11 brothers and sisters including step-brothers. Always had a passion for sports and would draw in class when I was bored. I played football, basketball and ran track. During my younger days around the early 2000’s, I remember seeing my uncle draw the back of a suburban truck. He doesn’t know it but later I tried to draw the same thing and it didn’t turn out too well. I didn’t think I was that good anymore but I remember my Art…
