I started out like most young people do trying something. I started off with some more friends We started a Rap group. Early on I figured out I wasn’t a rapper. So I begin promoting the other guys to help gain exposure. So I kept my day to day operations to help fund the group and later built a studio so we could create when we had ideas. Eventually i founded Ghetto Records Atl in 1990. During the 90s we worked with a lot of artists in Atlanta. Some of them were Khujo and T-Mo of Goodie Mob during this…

My start was a process and is still continuing. I found a love for music after being surrounded by talent within my family right here in Macon, GA. My grandfather, Percy Welch, inspired me the most - the same as my dad, Sonny Spoon. I remember being young and using cassette tapes to record songs with my cousins and we’d go to share the music with my grandfather who’d cuss us out for playing that “rap music”. But it was like honey to my ears. I began to dig deep and find my flow and let creativity take its course.…

I started rapping in college you know smoking weed with home boys and free styling, but I was really good and my friends encouraged it so I dropped out my freshman year and haven’t looked back since. It took me about a year and a half to hone my skills on my own at home in my grandma’s basement. Ironically it was her death in the latter half of 2013 that propelled me into the local open mic scene in Macon,Ga.

I've always been a creator. I feel like I’ve always had an imagination so when it comes to creating content it comes natural. When I got my first camera I was transitioning from sports and at a point in time where I’m expelled from college and a felon I had to ask myself what did I really want to do with my life? To be honest I didn’t have much of a plan. I was a junior in college at the time and if it wasn’t for me being undeclared I probably wouldn’t learn that I had a very particular…

I started off dancing in kindergarten, doing West African with my fav dance teacher Mrs. Pilar Lowden. I danced for her almost every year till 11th grade. She trained me in tap, modern, contemporary, ballet, disco.. etc. She expanded my entire dance knowledge! After I went to college, I started my own dance team, called Hypnotik, where we performed at multiple events at the school and even had shows in Atlanta. All the while, I started wanting to take up acting. I started doing extra work in Atlanta when I could which was rare. After I finally graduated college, I…

In August of 2017, I founded KapShaun /caption/ with my business partner, Jasmine McWright. It is a videography, photography, and editing company, that captures the true essence of its subject through the lens. The company name derived from a family name, "Shaun". The first half was for creative purposes. I became inspired to start KapShaun after I struggled to get hired locally. At the time, I was a recent graduate from college. I was eager to apply my learnings to the "real" world. Unfortunately, the "world" was not ready for me. Therefore, I found myself unemployed and struggling to make…

Born in Maryland, raised in Rialto, California and moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University as a Speech Communication major graduate. I met my now-husband (Aaron Corley) and was anxious and ready for my future. However, I was not ready for the life-changing event of losing my mother-Joy to breast cancer in 2010, it took a toll on my life and made me scared. I was scared that I would change who I was because of losing my mother, so I prayed, prayed that God keeps me and give me the strength to get through this hard time. And,…

I started off in the art world as a “late bloomer”. Art did not come into my life until the age of 15. I saw a picture of tweety bird and drew it based on memory. It was not too bad but that’s where i gained my interest in art. My first art class was my senior year of high school in 2012 and from there I knew I was gifted. I was more interested in how to put art on the computers versus drawing on paper and I knew graphic design was my passion. I attended Middle Tennessee State…

I discovered my passion for cake decorating while I was employed as a bakery wrapper. I found it so satisfying to watch the cake decorators design cakes and cupcakes using 95% icing. One day, my manager at the time, asked me if I’d be interested in becoming a cake decorator. Shortly after, she alllowed me to take home a piping bag filled with icing and a few pastry tips to practice at home. The bakery was very fast paced so my time being cross trained on the job was actually very slim. I’ve always been a visual learner so watching…
