Meet Ta’Coria Lyons of The Dolly T Custom Boutique
My business started as a hobby, which I can honestly say it’s my passion. When I was younger I would love to watch YouTube “DIYs” and try to redesign all of my older clothes, just for fun. I never really thought much of it, it was something I was doing in my free time because I enjoyed seeing how I could take an old pair of jeans and completely transform them. While I was in high school I would design/customize clothes for others, but never thought of it as a business, at that point it was just something I was good at doing. As I got older I tried working several jobs, I worked at starbucks twice, and I also worked at dunkin donuts for a few months, neither jobs worked out for me. I had the worst luck when it came to finding a good working environment! My parents gave me the courage I needed to see how unfairly I was being treated on my last job, and I quit. Once I quit I began to put all my energy into my business leading me to where I am today!
It has not always been a smooth road and at times I still doubt myself, but I’ll never give up of myself and business. When I first started I struggled with finding ways to promote my business, finding my brand, and executing sales. As time has gone I’ve gotten better at it and its just one of those things that I feel I’ve gotten better at over time. No matter what I go through my parents always support me, so that’s a big help in keeping me going.
My business is a Custom Boutique. I can create, customize, and design almost any and everything. Specializing in Custom Apparel, Shoes, Party Favors, T-Shirts, Tutus, and more! We also graphic design, we could help you brand your business by creating your perfect logo, business cards, and even business branding stickers! What sets me apart from others is that I’m a crystal artist, I rhinestone as well! Not only that, my business is a custom boutique, which means we create the clothing that you can’t just find in stores. Everything from us is designed and created exactly how you would like it, and that’s also what I’m most proud of my business.
Success to me is happiness. I enjoy what I do and the more my business grows that truly is the greatest feeling to me. I didn’t come from generational wealth and I would love to be the one that starts it. My family has worked hard the majority of their lives with little to no breaks and I want them to just be happy, as well as being stress-free and I know one day I’ll be able to give them the happiness they truly deserve. That’s what success is to me, not only creating happiness for yourself but paving the way for others to be happy as well.
