I spent over a decade working in the bars and restaurants and always knew I could do and be more. In 2010 I was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which was the defining moment in my life. I always wanted to be a doctor, but gave up on those dreams because I was sick of being in school. Not only did I beat cancer with flying colors, but throughout the process, I learned how important health and wellness is to be your best self, to prevent chronic disease and cancer. It wasn’t until I met a now…
I was attending Arizona State University when I got involved in DJ-ing for dances and clubs. I graduated with a Recreation Management degree and began working for Mesa Parks and Recreation where I created and organized numerous special events and programs. After ten years with them, I put my career on hold to have kids. I would organize events here and there and DJ weddings and school dances occasionally but nothing that would interfere with being a stay-at-home mom and raising my kids. When my oldest turned sixteen and my youngest was in 3rd grade, I realized we needed some…
My story to becoming an expert in Therapeutic Diets starts with trying every major dietary theory out there to try to improve my health. I was suffering from fluctuating weight, chronic migraines, ovarian cysts, hormonal acne, severe asthma, and psoriasis. I just wanted to feel better and maintain a healthy weight without spending 12 hours a week at the gym. As I tried every diet, eventually finding the one that works for me, I realized that every person is different. There is no one-size-fits-all diet to improve all of humanities health. I stumbled across the book "Integrative Health" written by…
My photography journey started right after a serious accident I had on a skateboard. I suffered a Tramatic Brain Injury with cracked Temporal bone. I bled for 9 hours inside my head and out of my ear while I slept in my bed, the doctors said it was a miracle I survived the night. I lost my sense of smell, along with several other symptoms that still persist. I wasn’t able to work for a while so I had time to think on my hands. At this time I had just started school for aviation science. I had to withdrawal…
I started doing makeup on friends in high school as just a fun hobby. I always had a love for art and anything artistic, and found myself expressing that through makeup. At first I didn’t really anticipate it taking me anywhere. My confidence level in my craft wasn’t great. I would honestly be surprised and a little embarrassed when people would ask me to do their makeup. Over time I grew to love makeup and the beauty industry more and more. I was (and still am) obsessed with watching beauty tutorials on YouTube. I would watch, analyze, and take notes…
I’d say everything started in 6th grade when I started writing poetry. I was fascinated by the power of a metaphor. My dad was in prison at that time. I hadn’t formed any conscious memories of him. He would call me a lot and send me letters. In his letters he’d draw me pictures and write me poems. So, naturally I was interested in arts from my earliest years. In 4th grade, I found myself in the back of Mr. Ohalorons band class with a big metal thing with a bunch of buttons in my lap. I didn’t quite understand…
My story begins in the Heart of the Navajo Nation; Chinle, AZ. I am a woman who carries two beautiful cultures; Dine (Navajo) and Afro American. As a child, I've always loved the arts. With art, I could express myself through colors, poetry, music, and movement. I struggled a lot being comfortable in my own (dark) skin and curly hair, in the middle of the reservation. In my dreams, I loved my hair, I loved my unique features. I could be anything; I could be me. But my reality wasn't as easy to embrace. The reality of never feeling "enough"…
It started when I was a freshman in college and I began making videos for my friends who played football. Those videos are bad compared to what I am doing now. For some unknown reason, I took like a year off and to this day I do not know why. Fast forward to winter of 2018, I decided I was gonna do Youtube and I realized you are going to need to edit your own videos and that's where I began editing everything I could. I use to come home from class and just record and make videos from that…

As a young woman, my mother believed in always giving back and philanthropy. I spent countless days and hours with her helping others and families. as I grew older I helped her a lot with her women’s ministry. I believe that gave me my 1st look into what my future would be like. I became a single unwed mother at the age of 22 something that was comp’d shunned on due to…
Who I am is a story best illustrated with the colors of my foundation, made of the people and places that have shaped me. I was born and raised by my humble, generous parents in Greensboro, North Carolina. My father was a scientist as well as a painter and potter. My mother grew up in a poverty-stricken family; she was the fifteenth of seventeen children. She was the first to attend and graduate college, and is now a teacher. My paternal grandparents are both artists - my grandmother an art historian and costume designer, my grandfather a professor of theater.…
