Having grown up in Baltimore into a house where music was always around, I picked up the drums at the age of five and have been hooked since. I went to school in the Jazz and Contemplative Studies at the University of Michigan, where I began playing with a Rock N Soul band called Great Divide. I then moved to Chicago for five years before landing in LA. Since moving to LA, I have gotten involved in many recording and projects, and then started a project called “Family Company” with Alex Kyhn and Jason Goldstein. We have put on Bill…

When people ask me this question I have often given two answers. One of them often focuses on my mother and father's role in my creative upbringing, my mother a music therapist and ceremonial cantor for Catholic mass, and my father an archaeologist and object-anthropologist. Both of them offered these different time scales for watching how time plays through the weave of human ritual, history, and performance of symbolic objects. I could talk on and on about these two, but today I'd like to highlight two other very important figures in my life that continue to influence and bring me…

My first artistic love was POETRY. As a child, I had a terrible stutter, which resulted in me HATING to read out loud in class. I couldn't relate to the stories half the time, I found the literature boring most of the time, and ALL OF THE TIME I resented how easy it was for others to just simply 'open their mouths and read'. In the third grade, I was introduced to great poets like Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes. Poems like "The Negro Mother" and "Still I Rise" moved me beyond words; I felt it in my spirit. Even…

It all started when I got together with a former college classmate who I hadn't seen in thirteen years. He was convinced that I would have pursued standup comedy after college instead of working in corporate America. I performed standup comedy during my last semester of college and my friend could still remember his favorite jokes from when I performed at a student event right before graduation. I was a French major in college, meaning I had no idea what I was going to do with my life after college other than move to France and meet the man of…

Photography has been apart of my life since a young age. I felt like I was always the unofficial photographer of my family. When I got to high school, I enrolled in my school’s photography class, which they started that year. I learned the technical side of it and years later, I directed my passion and drive towards taking pictures and now here I am!

Well, let’s just start with the name – Rhett George. My parents got my first name from the movie classic Gone with the wind. The lead character’s name was Rhett Butler. I guess my parents somehow knew that I would be in Entertainment and wanted to bless me with a great stage name. Yes, I was teased as a kid for such a unique name and I hated it then, but I have learned to embrace it now. Having two first names is always cool. My mother was a Christian singer in the Caribbean with her two sisters. She taught…

Dylan started Yesterday's Donuts in late 2015 from the ashes of his previous project. After stabilizing the first lineup, we released our first EP, Frankensteined, in 2017. Shortly after, the band was overhauled as we went through the loss of two drummers and a guitarist. Things began to look up when then-bassist Jonathan switched to drums. By July of 2018, we were complete again with the addition of Kelly and Louis on bass and second guitar, respectively. We have since stuck together and released our mini LP "Too Much Noise, Not Enough Space" in 2019, and are currently working on…
