To truly paint the picture of my story, we must travel back to May of 1993 in Long Island, New York. I was a month old when my Father became a certified personal trainer ,and honestly without him doing so I probably wouldn't have become one myself. To this day he is one of my biggest inspirations and I'm still learning from the master. As a child, I was always extremely active and blaring loads of energy. When I turned 7 years old I started hanging out at the gym with my dad playing with other kids and slowly absorbing…
My journey of creating She Leads Podcast: Leadership Empowerment for Women of Color began with a burning desire of wanting more out of life. After years of feeling unfulfilled in my corporate career I decided to try entrepreneurship. I tried entrepreneurship three times in the past; however, I did not take it or myself seriously at those times. In my past life of entrepreneurship I owned a recording studio, started a recording label, and founded a photography company. Then, on September 1, 2017 I relocated over 1,200 miles from the place I called home since I was born, moving from…
I love personal shopping and wardobe styling. It's a gift I've had since highschool. I've always had a mind and style of my own. I love prints and classic style. I am not trendy, so I live to create beautiful unique pieces and / or personal shop for one of kind items
I remember back in high school I would scour the Internet for new songs and unique songs to add to my library. My iPod had so many songs on it and in College I would go through and listen to as many as I could. I initially wanted to DJ before making music, but thought that it was too hard or that I couldn't do it. Then I saw someone at my college doing it and thought "I can do that." That person I saw quit DJing the next year and sold me his board. I then started to DJ…
While enrolled in college, I literally lost everything I had except for my car and clothes. At the time, I was studying Information Technology with a focus on Digital Media. I hopped from place to place, not willing to give up on what God told me to do. One day I began to admire the nature around me – the flowers, the birds, the sky and the sounds. That day I had about $400 in my account. I knew I had to make something shake, so I went to the pawnshop and bought a $150 camera. That very day I…
I am constantly striving everyday to be better than the person I was yesterday. If you know me then you should already know that I am a very analytical person. This comes with its advantages and disadvantages. I don't strive for perfection, but I pay attention to detail. I'm a watcher I observe people. I enjoy it. I watch people move about their day, how they eat their foods, play with their children, pronounce words, how they dress, how they interact with other people and most importantly how they love. Watching other people helps me gather insight about the world…
I have always been pretty athletic. I grew up in a home where my siblings and I played multiple sports, and my dad was a bodybuilder. Health and fitness was always part of my lifestyle. So, fast forward to me being pregnant with my first child. I bought into the "eat for two" advice and really packed on the pounds. I tipped the scale at 230 lbs and gained 70 lbs during my pregnancy. Fortunately I was still walking daily, and even with the large weight gain I didn't have the pregnancy complications like preeclampsia like a lot of women…
My journey can be linked all the way backed to music. Growing up, I actually had a strong disinterest in fashion. I felt as if it was unnecessary and as long as the clothing did what it was created for that's all that mattered. Entering my sophomore year of high school I found myself listening to more music than ever before. With music becoming more involved with fashion I became captivated with not only these artist' music, but the way they dressed. As time went on I was heavily influenced by XXXTentacion, someone who's music I could relate too, and…
My passion for being a content creator all started back when I was in high school. I would make short films with friends to post on YouTube, which eventually lead me to create SoAndSoFilms. After some time of doing this, my work began to get noticed and was picked up by a few clients that helped me get to where I am today. All of these clients were located in the heart of Atlanta, so I knew that where I needed to be to better service their needs.
I was going through a time in my life where I needed direction. I had recently lost my daughter in a car accident, and I was trying to figure out how to navigate through life without her. I quit my job and started writing, and I was trying to get organized so I bought a planner to help me. I ended up buying three different planners that didn't quite help me with what I needed. So I decided to create my own. The idea was initially just for me to design my own planner, but after a few friends saw…
